| Vineyard Hardwoods was established by Brian and Sulinda Painter in 2004. With the help of Family (Brother Scott), friends, and son Matthew, we got the majority of the buildings and facilities up and running in 2004. We operate on 17 acres that borders the City of Alexandria Kentucky. The grounds were formerly the largest vineyard in the state of Kentucky, run by Brian's Maternal grandfather Willy Schwerin, with about 11 acres of vineyard. We still have a smaller commercial vineyard today on the property, thus the name Vineyard Hardwoods. We were established to provide high quality lumber to the local wholesale wood use market. We have clients ranging from cabinet shops, building supplies and remodelers. We buy our logs locally and mill them here at our facility. We are keen on buying only the best saw logs. We do not have a lot of manpower like the big mills and cannot produce large quantities of lower grade lumber. We have to focus on the upper grades of lumber to compete. In 2007 our association with A & M Custom sawing has allowed us to focus on providing custom wholesale millwork for builders and remodelers. We work daily to bring products on line to benefit our customers. We now have a line of custom moldings for remodelers and furniture makers. These custom moldings allow them to use the same wood for trimming their finished pieces. The CNC router added in September 2007, allows us to provide curved trim to match arched windows and doors. We feel our short delivery time on these products is what will grow our business. Nothing gets wasted. We sell our sawmill slabs for firewood by the bundle. Planing shavings go for local animal bedding. We also use wood to heat our home and showroom. If you foresee needing wholesale hardwood lumber in the near future please give our operation a try, and let us make your end results better!
